 Newsletter Thursday 20th. September

Our times are now 11 a.m. – 3.30p.m. We do appreciate your enthusiasm, thank you for waiting until 11a.m. to come into the hall. We have noticed that some members need to leave as soon as we have had show and tell – this is fine, but don’t feel you have to leave then, we have the hall until 3.45p.m. so if you pack up at 3.30p.m. we still have time to make sure all is cleared away.

 Show date – Thursday 16th. May 2019

Make a note in your diaries and on your calendars!

Subscription for 2018/19 – will remain at £20 for the year. Subscriptions are due in this month, Jacky will be collecting them – cash or cheques, payable to Loddon Quilters please - if that is a problem please let us know.

We shall be welcoming some prospective members to our meeting this month, we know you will make them welcome. Try to remember to wear your name badges, it’s so helpful if you are new – or your memory is not what it was!

Bring and Buy sale

There will be a bring and buy sale this month, Loddon Quilters will take 10%, the rest is yours to recycle. Please remember – NO pins - safety pins or a stitch to attach a price to your sale item. (Don’t forget your name or initials)

This month we hold our AGM, it’s an opportunity to look back at the year and forward to next year. We like to keep it informal and not too long!

Facebook – we now have a Loddon Quilters Facebook page. Try logging in to Facebook and search for Loddon Quilters, then request to join, Agna will get back to you. You can only look at the front page without joining, the group is a closed group, only for members. If you have a problem see Agna at the meeting. If you do join then post your photos or tell us of good shops, exhibitions or news, this is your Facebook page so join in, don’t forget to ‘like’ or comment on what has been posted.

Dot will be introducing the chequered Dresden plate, which she will demonstrate in October. This month she will tell you what you need and how to prepare if you want to join in a workshop next month. If you want to get ahead have a look at YouTube it’s the Missouri Quilt Company – chequered Dresden plate.

Scrappy Box – please remember to check that there are no pins or needles in fabric you add to the scrappy box. Help yourself to any useful pieces and make a small donation.

On Saturday 6th. October Sherfield village hall has an arts and crafts day and we have been offered a table free of charge. This seems a good opportunity to show the community what we do and advertise our forthcoming show. We shall be looking for some volunteers to man the stall for an hour at a time, can you spare an hour?
