Christmas 2017

posted Dec 15, 2017, 11:39 AM by Loddon Quilters

Meeting Thursday 22nd.December

What a busy meeting we had last month!

So many members have taken up the challenge of our row quilt and had brought along their first row of strip piecing. Jacky then introduced the second row of piecing; she had used log cabin on point and showed us Delectable Mountain block, illustrating the mountains of our Out and About quilt. Two stands will be available at the meeting to display any finished rows – first or second, we look forward to seeing how many variations you find.

No row this month as you are no doubt busy with other things!

The Christmas tree festival in St. Leonard’s church, Sherfield was an enchanting sight. Loddon Quilters Starlight Express looked stunning. If you missed it we shall be putting our tree up in the hall for you to see.

Thank you to everyone who made stars and to the Tree group for putting it all together.

Christmas meeting

This is our Christmas celebration we hope you will enjoy it.

When you arrive please put your secret Santa  (needle case), wrapped, into Santa’s bag, which will be on a table in the centre of the hall. They will be given out later in the afternoon. We will open our secret Santas for everyone to see the amazing ideas members have – it doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective.

The raffle – everyone will be given a free raffle ticket during the meeting. Any contributions for the raffle will be welcome and can be put on the raffle table when you arrive. We will draw the raffle in the afternoon and there will be as many winners as there are raffle prizes.

Finally – and perhaps most importantly – a small plate of finger food would be much appreciated. There will be no charge for tea and coffee this month.

Lunch will be at 12.30, so no one need bring a separate lunch, we are sure there will be plenty left for those who come later – the tables are usually groaning!

Don't worry if you can't bring/forget any of the above, it’s you we want to see at our Christmas meeting, so be sure to come along.

We will have some activities for you to join in – if you want to……so put on your party things and let Christmas begin!

We shall round off our day with a Christmas Show and Tell, anything you have made, any time, on a Christmas theme – as well as our usual new items.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all

from the committee of Loddon Quilters
