Loddon Quilters December 2010 Newsletter Meeting Thursday 16th. December. Everyone was getting into the Christmas spirit last month. Thanks to Della for her Christmas workshop for several busy members. Several members have made boxes and there were lots of placemats being made. This month is our Christmas tea party, if you would like to bring a few cakes/goodies we shall have our Christmas tea about 2.30 - 3 o’clock. A reminder that the Christmas party gift is a placemat – any size, any shape, any pattern, for any time (not necessarily Christmas), handmade or bought. If you don’t have time/energy to make one we will have some spares available for a small donation. Please bring it rolled and tied - cracker shape –, no names attached, and a Christmas card to give out separately, this you can sign as you wish. We shall have our usual raffle, so any contributions will be welcome. When you arrive at the meeting there will be a table for raffle prizes and containers for placemats and Christmas cards. Wear something that glitters or sparkles if you remember. We plan to start our Christmas season with a swing! We suggest you leave your machines at home this month as we shall be setting out food and using tables at the ‘machine’ end of the hall – and you will be busy eating! The price of cotton fabric is set to rise considerably in the New Year. If you are planning a large project consider buying your main colours soon.
