Happy New Year to all our members December meeting We had an excellent meeting to celebrate Christmas with almost all our members attending. As always we were wowed by the various gift containers that were made for the Secret Santa. We were inspired by the lovely items at Show and Tell, check the photos on the website if you can’t remember them. A good time was had by all. Sunflower quilt. The quilt, in progress, was on display last month and looks most impressive. We shall be arranging for a representative from the hospice to collect it during our February meeting. Linus scrappy quilts Some of the scrappy quilts we made at our Scrappy Quilt Challenge meeting were on display last month and will be ready to hand over at our April meeting. Well done everyone for joining the New Year projects This year we hope to introduce different techniques each month to use on several smaller projects – or to use in a quilt if you want to. This month Pris will be showing the uses of sheers, organza and chiffon to create soft and creative shadow applique. There will be some fabrics available for you to try this technique. Several members have asked about machine quilting. We need an idea of numbers so that we can arrange some demonstrations as groups need to be small. We will be asking if you are interested during this month’s meeting.
