January 2018 Meeting 18th January

posted Jan 13, 2018, 7:46 AM by Loddon Quilters

A happy New Year to you all

from the committee of Loddon Quilters

Our December meeting put us all in the right spirit for Christmas! It was an opportunity for everyone to admire our Christmas tree which had been in the Christmas Tree Festival. Thank you to everyone for making it such a success. As always our secret Santas were a celebration of your creativity and we all have new needle cases this year.

Now we are ready to start a new year and continue our Row Quilt challenge. This month will be foundation piecing and Suffolk puffs – an unlikely combination but could be fun! There will be demonstrations if these are new techniques for you – or you need a reminder.  Our committee theme is Out and About and this month is trees and forests. Remember that you can adapt what we suggest to suit what you want to do and follow your own theme, it is a very flexible challenge.

If you have done some rows do bring them in and pin them up on the stands when you arrive.

In February we will be having a visit from the trader Purple Stitches. Some of you may have visited her shop in Chineham. We look forward to seeing her fabrics and will no doubt be tempted.

On Thursday 12th. July Gail Lawther will be visiting to hold a one day workshop. This is an additional meeting on the second Thursday in July, our regular meeting on the third Thursday is on 19th. July as usual.

During this month’s meeting we will be asking who is interested and which workshop would be most popular. The cost of the day will be £25. More details at the meeting.
