What an amazing show we had!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day such a success, it was your day and it was your hard work that made it so successful – and enjoyable.

Please pass on our thanks to all the men folk who manfully reached, stretched and pulled to get the show together.

Not only did we have a great day but we raised £1700 for our chosen charities – St. Michael’s Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Society. Michelle, from the hospice, will be coming to our meeting to collect a cheque.

Photos of all the quilts are on the website in the photo gallery, why not have a look. This year we also made a video so you can see ‘behind’ the scenes’, you can see it at the meeting.

We have had a lot of positive feedback, many thanks for your kind comments. Now it's time to come back to earth and collect our thoughts – for next time, maybe?! We shall be having a show committee 'debrief' during the meeting this month. If you have any observations – of any sort – please let us know. We know there are things we can 'tweak', maybe add or change and everyone has a different perspective, so do let us know.

We are now thinking about the next quilting year. If you have any ideas for projects or challenges it will help us in our planning for the forthcoming meetings, so do let us know. If you would like any demonstrations or workshops about particular techniques (large/small, beginners or more challenging) or would just like some new ideas speak to any member of the committee or if you would rather write it down, or email, please do – this is your group. The suggestions box will be out if you want to remain anonymous!

Library books

The library will be back this month.

Over the last year one of our members, Chris Dobson, has had a collection of quilts displayed at various large quilt shows around the country. If you didn’t see them at one of these shows you will have a chance this month when we will be displaying her quilt collection during the meeting. Many thanks to Chris for sharing your quilts with us.
