March 2013

posted Mar 18, 2013, 1:24 AM by Loddon Quilters
We had a bumper meeting in February with a hall full of enthusiastic Loddon Quilters, thank you
all for your support.

We have had a good response to entries for the show – if you have just remembered something
you would like to show please contact Chris or Barbara and we will do our best to include it.

The raffle quilt is beautiful – thank you to everyone who has contributed to this great effort.

We were pleased to see all the Olympic blocks displayed at our Olympic block Show and
Tell. We would like them to be a feature of our show, so be sure to enter your quilt – whatever
the size.

Show time workshops
As always members responded to our workshops and made at the meeting, or took away to make,
some or all of the ideas on show. There were book wraps, chickens, cards, travel trays and handy
caddys. If you want any of the worksheets there is a special section on the website where we shall
be putting all the details.

We would like a few more leaves if anyone has time to make one. We will have the template at
the meeting and you can take 'bits' from our scrap box if needed.

Sleeves for quilts
All quilts for the show need a hanging sleeve. If you haven't had time or are not sure how to
make one we will show you at the meeting. You will need a piece of fabric the width of your
quilt and approximately 10"wide. We will have machines available for you to use.
Your quilt also needs a label, with your name, the name of the quilt if it has one and any other
information (dates, methods etc.) you may want to include.

Delivery and collection of items for the show

Everything will be collected at Pris' house, Hazel House, opposite Sherfield Hall, on the Monday
and Tuesday before the show. You will receive a receipt which you will need when you collect
your quilts from the hall after the show. We will give you details at the meeting – and remind you
in an email nearer the time.
