May 2018 Newsletter Meeting Thursday 17th.May 2018 Last month we decided by a large majority to adjust our meeting times. Starting this month our hours for members will be 11 a.m. – 3.30p.m. – giving you extra time in the sun. Please do not arrive before 11 as the committee have to set up before you arrive. We have some volunteers to join the show committee, so we will be holding a show next year. Show date – Thursday 16th. May 2019 Make a note in your diaries and on your calendars! Thank you very much to those members who have volunteered for the show committee, we would like some more volunteers – many hands make light work. Please think about it, it is only for 6 months and our show is very worthwhile. We will have a preliminary meeting this month just to introduce members and ask for ideas for all aspects of the show – tombola, raffle, café, layout etc. Don’t worry if you can’t make this meeting – there will be more! If you won’t be here for the show, but would be willing to help in the preparation come along and see how you can help. Row Quilt This month will be a ‘catch up’ month and in June we will give you some ideas as to what to do next – if you want to add sashing. Bring along any completed rows, we hope to have some joined rows so that you can see how the quilt is coming together. We have Bondaweb for sale at the meeting (£1 for 12”) and freezer paper– see a member of the committee. Thank you to everyone for filling in their Data Protection forms. Gail Lawther workshop on Thursday 12th. July will be on Twilight silhouettes. The cost of the workshop will be £25, payable this month.
