     Meeting Thursday 16th, November

Our membership is now complete for 2017/18 and we are pleased to welcome our new members. We are trying to remember names, as they are, so please wear your name badge if you have one – we will try to remember ours- it does help!

Thank you to everyone who joins in Show and Tell. It is such an inspiration and so encouraging to see the work you produce – we know the effort that goes into the finished work. The photos are put on the website each month.

Last month we began our row quilt challenge. Joan gave us lots of ideas for the first row using 8” blocks (or 4” blocks). For those of you not at the meeting, or who want a reminder, the row details are attached with the newsletter. We hope to see lots of rows this month, but it’s never too late to join in if you haven’t started yet. Jacky will be introducing the second row this month.

Thank you to Pat for demonstrating quilt as you go, a technique you may want to use with your rows.

Thank you to everyone who joined in our star making day, we have a good collection of stars and the promise of more to come. These stars are for our Christmas tree festival entry – Starlight Express. The Christmas tree festival is in St. Leonard’s church, Sherfield on the 9th and 10th December. The switching on of the lights is on Friday evening, 8th.December.

A reminder - this year’s Secret Santa is a needle case. There will be a reminder of the format for the Christmas meeting during this month’s meeting and in the next newsletter.

Does anyone recognise this cake slice?

Please see Barbara if you do.
