November 2015 Newsletter Meeting Thursday 19th.November
Scrappy Quilt challenge Like all of us, Loddon Quilters has a scrappy box of fabric which is overflowing. This month we hope to use up some of our scrappy box to make some lap quilts for Project Linus. We would like everyone to take part. We will supply everything – we just need your enthusiasm and sewing skills. We would like everyone to make a simple block during the meeting. We will give you all the details at the meeting – it won’t be difficult and it won’t take much of your time, so please take part.
How many quilts can we make in a meeting?? It’s up to you!
New members Last month we welcomed 2 new members and hope to see 2 more this month. We shall then be up to our full complement of 60 members – and we still have a waiting list! Please try and wear your name badge, it helps everyone to put a name to a face.
Sunflower quilt. The sunflower quilt for St. Michael’s Hospice is now underway. Thank you to all our volunteers who have made blocks or are busy working on sunflower blocks for the quilt. We would like all blocks back this month please. We plan to have some spare blocks to make into cushions. See Chris if you have queries.
December meeting Early information – several members have asked about our December meeting on 17th. December This is our Xmas celebration. Everyone brings a secret Santa to go in Santa’s sack, a raffle prize and a small plate of finger food. The most important thing to bring is yourself – if you can’t bring any of the other things it doesn’t matter. This is our light hearted Xmas celebration and we all enjoy it!
Secret Santa This year it will be a small (no bigger than 6”) gift container, a bag, a box, a holder- anything that could hold a small gift – and it should be empty! The container is the gift for the recipient to use as they please.
