We had our usual busy meeting and for Show and Tell we had a good collection of log cabins, showing different styles e.g. twisted, and different arrangements e,g barn raising. We were all inspired and will hopefully go away and try a traditional or variation log cabin. Quite a few members are joining in our block of the month – remember you do not have to do all of them or make a quilt, you could just do your favourite and make, for example, a bag, a cushion or a table mat. Oak Leaves Pris demonstrated an exciting way of making oak leaves for the more adventurous, we look forward to what you come up with. Again, it does not have to be complicated, we need a variety of leaves. We would like as many oak leaves as possible completed by our March meeting. Free machine quilting Pris demonstrated free motion quilting – did you see the lovely cushion cover she had made? Several members had a try and the machine will be set up for members to try free motion quilting at future meetings. If you haven't had a go see Pris and she will guide you. Meeting Thursday 16th. February This month's block is called Jack in a box, we thought it looked like a horse's head and would represent an equestrian event Iif you have a vivid imagination!). It brings together half and quarter triangles and is rather more complex than previous months. Notes attached. If you want something simpler why not do a nine patch, making sure all your seams match! Bring and Buy Sale Diana will be running a sewing bring and buy sale all day. These are the arrangements - You can bring any sewing related items They must be marked with your name and a price attached to the item with a safety pin or staple (no ordinary pins please) Prices – no odd pence please, pounds or 50p.
