****Loddon Quilters' second Show – Thursday 18th.April 2013**** We have a date for our next show, please make a note in your diary. We shall need lots of help and we know you will all support the show and make it as successful as last time – perhaps even more so. This month we shall be setting up a show committee and they will be looking for volunteers and entries for the show. It will be a busy time but we hope you will all join in and enjoy it. We hope to display all the items we have made so far for the tombola, so if you have any leaves, pincushions, items made with your piece of fabric or any other contributions please bring them along to the meeting. We had a full hall last month despite the sun shining, the Festival of Quilts being on and holidays being taken. We had an inspiring show and tell with several ideas for using up your scraps to make a quilt – check out the website. Also on the website are photos taken at the NEC Festival of Quilts, including one of Jenny Hornsey's quilt. Jenny is also Miss January (or her quilt is!) in the Quilters' Guild calendar for 2013, on sale from the Quilters' Guild. September is the beginning of another Loddon Quilters' year and we shall be having our AGM. We will be collecting subscriptions this month. We are holding the subscription at £16 - we hope you will agree that it is a bargain! Please take your cheques (payable to Loddon Quilters) or cash to Jackie Morgan, our treasurer, during the meeting. We were pleased to find some suggestions in the Suggestions box! Please add yours to it, however great or small, everything will be considered. We need to decide on a charity for our quilt show so any suggestions can go in the box. In October Janice will be doing a workshop for Christmas. If you have done one of Janice's workshops before you will know how good they are and that she makes up packs with all you need to make the item. She will be coming round during the meeting this month to see who would like to join in and would like a pack. Hearing Loop -there is now a hearing loop in the Hall. If you would like to be able to use this please let Barbara know and she will find out more about it. Defibrillator The village now has a defibrillator. It is located in the left hand of the central porches at the front of the Village Hall. The box it is in is alarmed. The Defib is one which when turned on tells you step by step what to do. There is a short video, which will be available for you to watch during the meeting, if you want to. There is also a 57 page manual if anyone wants bed time reading.
